I went on a pilgrimage to the anime "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day."

The setting is Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. When I visited, I was deeply moved by the scenery, which was the same as the scenes in the anime.

It was a lot of work to get around, but it was a lot of fun, so I'll share some pictures with you.😊

First, let me introduce the Old Chichibu Bridge.

This is a place that appears many times in the story. I was so excited to finally be able to go there. It's a bit far to walk from the station, but the nature is so beautiful.

The manhole was also Anohana.

Just across the Old Chichibu Bridge, on your right is the
"Old Chichibu Bridge Stairs" that appeared in the movie.
I sat in the same spot where Menma and
Jintan sat on the stairs talking.

Next, we went back to the station and walked to Chichibu Shrine. In the anime, Jintan and Menma had a conversation here.

Nearby, I saw a familiar scene: "Beside the railroad tracks behind the Chichibu Festival Hall." I was moved to think that everyone had been walking here.

There is a Menma in the town.

All the drink vending machines around town are selling Anohana.

Next, we went to Jorinji Temple. This is a place that appears many times as a place where the Super Peace Busters gather and play hide-and-seek.As I was editing this blog, it became increasingly difficult to tell the difference between the actual location and the illustration in the anime, with the monk's sign and other things still there.

The picture on the manhole cover near Jorinji Temple was "Jintan."

Next to Jorinji Temple is Keyaki Park. The blue bench where Jintan sat is also located here. I sat down firmly and took a commemorative photo in the same pose.😊

The tunnel depicted in the anime can also be found here. Of course, we went through the tunnel too.

We then headed to Hitsujiyama Park, which is difficult to reach on foot, and were rewarded with a spectacular view. We also went to Ryusei Yagura, where members of the Super Peace Busters launched their homemade rockets, and were impressed by how the building's construction was just like in the anime, and were overwhelmed by its size.

This is the view that Poppo and the Super Peace Busters were seeing.

Finally, I stopped off at the nearby Ryusei Kaikan, where they were selling merchandise featuring the characters from the Super Peace Busters, and I was able to buy some souvenirs, bringing my anime pilgrimage tour to a fun end. There are other spots like Shibazakura Hill, and I'll be looking forward to visiting again when the flowers are in full bloom.

Thank you for reading to the end!
